The Detroit Lions lose three more defensemen to injury in the game against the Bills

The Detroit Lions defense continues to take hits that may be untenable at this point. Against the Buffalo Bills, three more defenders were injured and were out for the rest of the game.

First, starting cornerback Carlton Davis suffered a head and jaw injury. He was evaluated for a concussion. Davis was sidelined in the second half with a jaw injury. It is unclear whether he also suffered a concussion.

Davis was replaced in the lineup by Khalil Dorsey. But he also suffered an injury in the first half – and it appeared to be a serious one. While in coverage, Dorsey collided with teammate Ezekiel Turner, his leg became stuck in the ground and twisted. He was immediately put in a plaster cast and transported away. He was eliminated due to an ankle injury and, according to the CBS broadcast, Dorsey was taken to a local hospital.

The Lions relied on Kindle Vildor at cornerback for the remainder of the game.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t it with the injuries. The latter could end up being the most expensive of all. After a third down stop, defensive tackle Alim McNeill struggled to get free from the field. After being examined on the sidelines, McNeill was carted into the dressing room and immediately declared out with a knee injury.

The Lions’ defensive line has been hit hard by injuries this year. They have already lost Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, Kyle Peko and Mekhi Wingo to long-term injuries. McNeill was a star on the Lions’ defense, earning a mega midseason extension worth $97 million in four years.

As updates arrive for any of the three players, we will update this post.
