The Lions throw a TD to tackle Dan Skipper offensively against the Bills

DETROIT – After scoring two touchdowns at home, the Detroit Lions needed a spark before halftime against the Buffalo Bills.

Detroit pulled from its endless bag of tricks when offensive lineman Dan Skipper declared himself eligible to play, then caught a short pass from quarterback Jared Goff before rushing into the end zone.

Skipper’s nine-yard touchdown with 3:01 left in the second quarter helped the Lions cut the deficit to 21-14.

According to ESPN Research, the Lions are the only team to receive multiple touchdowns from a non-running back, wide receiver or tight end this season.

Later, Goff connected with star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 66-yard touchdown with 1:41 left in the third quarter. The TD broke St. Brown’s streak of three straight games without receiving a touchdown.

St. Brown’s 44 yards after the catch of the play was his biggest reception of his career.
