The Mavericks predicted they would “respond to trade rumors” surrounding the Lakers’ $101 million superstar

The Dallas Mavericks could be looking to make a blockbuster trade that would shake up the entire NBA.

The Mavs were recently linked to a Miami Heat All-Star, but a Los Angeles Lakers superstar is close to several people within the organization, which could prompt Dallas to seek his services.

LeBron James is finally seeing some decline in his game, but in a different situation, there’s no doubt he could still make it. A trade could involve Klay Thompson, but that should be a small price to pay as the former Splash Brother is well below his career average.

There’s no doubt what could bring James to court each night. He’s still capable of going downhill, bullying his defenders in the post, and knocking down either the three-pointer or a fadeaway jump shot.

Additionally, James’ playing skills and basketball IQ are unmatched. Bringing these intangibles to a team with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will help propel the Mavs to the top, especially on the game’s biggest stage.

James may have a hard time getting through the regular season like he once could, but Doncic and Irving have him covered in that regard. The four-time MVP has a proven track record playing alongside Irving, as both won a championship together with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

James also has a relationship with Dallas coach Jason Kidd, who was an assistant with the Lakers when they won a championship in 2020. Doncic and James could lead the Mavs’ offense together, as they have playmaking skills and a feel for picking their spots on the ball.

Considering all of this, the Mavs might be the most ideal team for James if he wants a chance at a fifth ring.
