In case you missed it, Elton John, the legendary singer and performer, was just named TIME Magazine’s Icon of the Year; and during Revelation he revealed what name he wanted to be known as.

“On my gravestone I just want to say, ‘He was a great father,'” he told the outlet. Isn’t that so heartwarming? His greatest legacy is really not the groundbreaking music or the way he changed music, but that he was the father of his two wonderful sons.

And this isn’t the first time he’s spoken about his legacy. Earlier this month, he told Good Morning America: “My legacy is that I was a great husband and an even better father… The music, the career is amazing.” It was overwhelming and groundbreaking. But the most important thing in my life is making sure that my children are happy, that they have a wonderful life and that I am good to them. Nothing else matters.”

For those who don’t know, John and Furnish have two children, both of whom they welcomed via the same surrogate. Their sons’ names are Zachary, 13, born in 2010, and Elijah, 11, born in 2013.

In a previous appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show In 2016, he said via People that their children were the greatest thing in our lives.”

“If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be sitting on your show, married to the man I love and having two beautiful children, I would have said, ‘You put acid in my drink.’ But life presents you with challenges and life presents you with surprises – great surprises – and these two children have come at a time when I never thought I would have children,” he said. “There are no words to describe how much we love these boys. They’re just amazing.”
