Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa and Chappell Roan prepare for Christmas, Carpool Karaoke Style.

On Sunday, December 15, Apple TV+ and Apple Music premiered the show’s hour-long holiday special, marking the series’ first episode in 18 months.

Regular host James Corden, 46, handed over the keys and the front seat of his SUV to 51-year-old Zane Lowe for all three segments.

“Zane, my husband. Listen, I need a favor, okay? I have three friends, they just need a ride,” Corden tells Lowe during a phone conversation at the start of the special.

DJ Lowe then responds “whoa” when he’s told his passengers need to be picked up in Tokyo, Missouri and Los Angeles – but it seems he’s up to the challenge, because in the next picture he’s singing “Deck The Halls”, while Lady Gaga rides shotgun.

The show’s famous SUV was also decorated for the holidays, with bunting and red ribbons embellishing the white leather seats.

The special continued with Lady Gaga, 38, Chappell Roan, 26, and Dua Lipa, 29, singing festive classics such as The Ronettes’ “Sleigh Ride” and Wham’s “Last Christmas.”

The trio also performed their own tunes, including Lady Gaga’s “Disease,” Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” and Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.”

The final ride of Lowe’s shift featured him joining Lady Gaga’s band on electric guitar to record a new version of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” which will be released independently as an audio track.

Lady Gaga also sang her 2008 holiday single “Christmas Tree,” which confused Lowe with suggestive lyrics, including “Under the mistletoe, everyone knows we’re going to get naked” and “My Christmas tree is delicious.”

Surprisingly, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson was also there – and Gaga subsequently revealed that she appeared as an extra in the band’s video for “Stiff Upper Lip” when she was 17.

During Chappell Roan’s segment, which featured her parents Kara and Dwight Amstutz, the singer introduced Lowe to a chicken named after Lady Gaga on her family’s farm in Springfield, Missouri.

Roan’s parents also took the opportunity to ride in the SUV and tell Lowe how proud they were of their daughter. “I love when you can just see how people respond so much to your songs,” Kara says.

The biggest surprise, however, remains Dua Lipa, who goes Christmas shopping with Lowe in downtown Tokyo while singing the Whitney Houston classic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
