The Mavericks and Warriors set the NBA single-game record with 48 combined 3-pointers

The Mavericks made 21 3-pointers on Sunday and the Warriors added 27 of their own, with the combined 48 setting a new league record for makes.

The Mavericks and Warriors squared off in The Bay on Sunday night and – in appropriate form for the return of Klay Thompson – engaged in a wild shootout that included a record-setting performance from 3-point range.

The Mavericks, who won the game 143-133, scored on 21 of their 41 attempts from distance (51.2%); The Warriors shot 27-for-54 from deep (50.0%). The total of 48 represents a new single-game NBA record, surpassing the previous mark of 45.

Former Splash Brothers, Thompson and Warriors colleague Stephen Curry each connected on seven triples. Luka Dončić scored six goals, while Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins had five goals each.

At least 13 players connected on a 3-pointer, with 10 of them making multiples. The teams also combined for an NBA record 30 three-pointers in a half, a result of the Warriors setting the NBA record for a half (18) while the Mavs made 12.
