A 12-year-old girl became the second person to be charged on Monday in connection with the murder of 80-year-old Bhim Sen Kohli, who died after being attacked while walking his dog in a park near Leicester in the east of England. in September.

Leicestershire Police said the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons because she is a minor, appeared at Leicester Youth Court where she was charged with manslaughter. A 15-year-old boy, then 14, who was arrested after the fatal attack and charged with Bhim Kohli’s murder remains in custody.

“A 12-year-old girl has been charged following the death of Bhim Kohli in September. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with manslaughter,” police said.

Five children aged 12 to 14 were arrested following Bhim Kohli’s death in hospital on September 2. Bhim Kohli’s family had released a statement through police at the time, saying they were heartbroken and struggling to cope with the loss of a loved and caring person.

“Bhim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also a son, brother and uncle. He adored his grandchildren with all his heart and loved spending time with them. “He was truly such a loving, caring person whose life revolved around his family,” the statement said.
