The I-95 corridor is experiencing a messy winter weather mix of snow, rain and ice

The same storm system that caused an ice storm in the Midwest over the weekend has moved into the Northeast, causing a slow Monday morning commute and a delayed start at several area schools.

Snow was reported in higher elevations, while it was mostly a rain event near the Interstate 95 corridor. Conditions should improve starting Monday afternoon.

The most devastating cyclone to hit the French Indian Ocean archipelago of Mayotte in 90 years may have killed hundreds of people, officials say.

Cyclone Chido hit Mayotte over the weekend Winds Gusts around 140 mph, which is a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scaleused by the National Hurricane Center.

The race is now on to locate survivors who may be buried under the rubble of destroyed homes and businesses, as officials fear the death toll could continue to rise.

Watch: Tornado sweeps through parking lot in California

A rare tornado ripped through the Northern California town of Scotts Valley over the weekend, overturning cars like toys and snapping utility poles and trees like branches.

Several people were injured in the brief tornado, which the National Weather Service said was an EF-1 Improved Fujita scale with Winds of 90 miles per hour.

Videos of the tornado show it spinning across a parking lot, while other images show the destruction left behind by the storm.
