Grandmother shot, granddaughter killed in Buckeye: Police

A woman who allegedly shot and killed her granddaughter Sunday afternoon in Buckeye has been taken into custody.

The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. at a home near Baseline and Miller Roads.

buckeye According to police, officers responded to the scene when a woman in her 50s came out of the home and was arrested.

Officers went into the home and found an unresponsive woman in her early 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 70s allegedly shot and killed her granddaughter at a home near 254th Avenue and Carson Drive on Dec. 15 in Buckeye.

A third person in the home, a woman in her 70s, was also arrested. According to police, there was a gun near her when she was arrested.

“Information gathered at the scene indicates that this was a domestic violence incident involving a grandmother, a mother and a granddaughter and that the grandmother shot the granddaughter.” police said.

No identities have been revealed.
