Travis Hunter’s Fiancée Leanna Lenee Blasts Haters After Viral Heisman Attacks

Leanna Lenee is firing back at the haters — and it’s been brewing for a while.

The fiancée of Heisman Trophy winner and two-time Colorado star Travis Hunter came under scrutiny from fans for her reaction over the weekend – and throughout the season.

Viewers of the Heisman ceremony were outraged that Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders apparently had to tell Lenee to stand up when Hunter was announced as the winner, and then again when a video emerged of her looking upset He interacted with what looked like fans at the -up event after winning.

“When his name was called, I immediately wanted to stand up – if you watch the video, his mother didn’t stand up, so I thought, ‘Oh, maybe I won’t stand up, I’ll just sit here,'” she said Monday in an emotional TikTok video that lasted nearly eight minutes.

“As soon as I saw Travis stand up, I thought it was appropriate to stand up and greet him and congratulate him. But then there was a camera right in front of Coach Prime and I knew they were going to film that moment and because of the way people are online, I thought I didn’t want to be in that shot, so I sat down.

“I intentionally came off camera so they could have their moment. That was all. Nobody told me to get up, nobody had to tell me to celebrate with him. I just sat there and cried, wanting to take it in – I was so happy for him. But I wanted the moment to be about him and his family.”

Lenee said she received permission from Hunter to voice her grievances in the video after her fiancé took to Twitch to tell fans that she was crying to herself at all the criticism.

“You’ve never had a girl before, so why are you all talking about me,” Hunter, a wide receiver and cornerback for the Buffaloes, said during a livestream. “Find someone to talk to. …Talk about your girl. Go find a girl. Go find a life. Don’t worry about what I’m up to. I know what I have.”

“You’re all going to hate me, then you’re going to hate my girl,” he continued. “I feel the same as her. We are inseparable. We are together. If it hurts her, then I hurt too (and vice versa)…she’s still sleeping. She is bulge. You know when you’re hurt you just cry yourself to sleep and be gone. She drank an excessive amount tonight for no reason.”

Lenee, who got engaged to Hunter in February, explained that her drained state was the culmination of several incidents throughout the season that cast her in an unflattering light – including one after Colorado’s win over Oklahoma State in which she was accused of was angry at Hunter for talking to cheerleaders.

“People thought I was upset that he was partying with cheerleaders. I don’t know where this started, but I didn’t say that,” she said, adding that security didn’t let the family onto the field to celebrate and that she and Hunter had already spoken.

“The things I see are really crazy because that didn’t happen. I just think that people find every little thing and make it something that it isn’t. Bird-brained people just accept what they see online.”
