Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings: Second Quarter Review and Third Quarter Discussion

At halftime they head to the locker rooms at US Bank Stadium, where the Minnesota Vikings lead the Chicago Bears 13-0 on Monday Night Football.

The Vikings began the quarter with the ball, entering Chicago territory and facing a 4th-and-3 from the Chicago 23-yard line. The Vikings decided to roll the dice and go for it, and Darnold was intercepted by Tyrique Stevenson to end the drive.

It looked like the Vikings would have forced a three-pointer on the ensuing possession, but Trent Sherfield was called for running into the kicker on the punt attempt and the penalty was enough to give Chicago a first down. The Bears then faced a 4th-and-1 from the Minnesota 29 and decided to give it another try. Again they turned to D’Andre Swift, who, similar to the first quarter, couldn’t get the yardage needed for another turnover on downs.

Then, with time running out in the half, Minnesota pushed down the field and looked like they had a chance for a touchdown, but they had to resort to Will Reichard again. He scored from 31 yards out and the Vikings extended their lead to 13-0 before halftime.

The Vikings will get the ball out of the locker room at halftime and hope they can extend their lead.
