Texas QB Arch Manning is among the Heisman frontrunners in 2025

Who will be the next college athlete to win the Heisman Trophy?

That’s a question we’re already asking, although the confetti may still fall on Colorado’s Travis Hunter, the two-way athlete who broke quarterbacks’ stranglehold on the award by hoisting the trophy last week. Of course, Arch Manning, backup quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, is a name that is already on everyone’s lips in college football circles.

In fact, 247Sports named Manning as one of its favorites to win the award in 2025.

From 247Sports: “The name matters a lot when it comes to Arch Manning, but so does his limited performance this season. Despite facing two Group of Five opponents and the SEC’s worst team, Manning was great in his three starts, completing 50 of his 72 throws for 806 yards and scoring 10 total touchdowns using his arms and legs. Manning continued to make it difficult for Steve Sarkisian to keep him off the field and earned a role in leading packages down the stretch. He is the future of the Texas offense and could enter the 2025 season with more excitement than anyone in the sport.”

Manning was mentioned along with Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams and others.
