Alabama transfer Caleb Odom plans visits to North Carolina, Ole Miss and Miami

Alabama Transfer receiver/tight end Caleb Odom has arranged a visit with North Carolina this week, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. He also has planned visits Miami And Ole Miss in addition to the visit already attended Colorado.

Odom was a true freshman last season who came into the program as a tight end but switched to receiver. He played in all 12 games with one start and finished with seven catches for 65 yards.

Odom played high school football Carrollton (GA)where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 54 player overall and the No. 2 tight end in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Rankinga weighted average that takes into account all four major recruiting media companies.

The visit to North Carolina comes after the six-time Super Bowl winner was announced last week as coach Bill Belichick would take over as Tar Heels coach. Meanwhile, Ole Miss and Miami are two teams that narrowly missed the College Football Playoff and are already looking to bolster their rosters for another run in 2025.

Colorado also has an interesting connection for Odom. He was a high school teammate with Julian Lewisthe No. 6 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle. After committing to it USC As of August 2023, Lewis decommitted to Colorado on November 21st.

Caleb Odom has three years of eligibility remaining for the program he wants to attend. Given his high recruiting ranking last cycle and praise from the Crimson Tide coaches, he’s sure to make an immediate impact.

“His development as a player has been exponential this season, which is why he played as much as he has,” said the Alabama receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard said earlier this year. “When you’re a bigger guy like him, you really work on getting in and out of breaks more efficiently and moving in a way that’s more like a receiver. Obviously he was initially recruited here to be a tight end. I am very proud of his progress so far. A really reliable boy, tough and willing to do whatever we ask of him.”
