Carly Pearce Helps Michael Bublé’s Nashville Dreams Come True at Opry (Exclusive)

It’s the holiday season—and no one feels more festive than Michael Bublé and Carly Pearce!

The 49-year-old crooner and the 34-year-old country star recently teamed up for the soulful duet “Maybe This Christmas,” performing the song together at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Sunday, December 15.

The event marked Bublé’s Opry debut, and since Pearce is something of a Nashville veteran, he certainly showed him what he’s made of.

“I love country music and I love the reverence that it has for the heroes that it had,” Bublé told PEOPLE of Pearce, who served as his team’s playoff mentor this season The voice. “And at the same time, she is a contemporary modern artist who is pushing country style forward.”

The singer added that he feels like no other singer could have helped him do “Maybe This Christmas” as well as Pearce.

“She has a piercing, beautiful voice. She’s an incredible storyteller,” he said. “I remember turning to my wife (Luisana) in bed and saying, ‘Babe, there’s no other woman in the world of music who could have done that and sounded like that.'”

Here, the collaborators take PEOPLE exclusively behind the scenes of their Nashville weekend at the Opry.
