Former top-75 prospect will pay a visit to North Carolina

Not long ago, Caleb Odom was considered a top-75 prospect in the 2024 class.

Odom was considered the No. 64 player in his class by ESPN as his size and skill set made him a very interesting target for college programs. The UNC football program was one of the schools that originally offered Odom, but the Carrollton, Georgia native chose to play with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

A year later, Odom has put his name in the transfer portal as North Carolina is in the process of signing him again.

According to Pete Thamel, Odom will visit North Carolina next week. In addition to his stop in Chapel Hill, the former Alabama wide receiver/tight end has already visited Colorado and plans to make stops at Ole Miss and Miami as well.

During his freshman season, Odom had seven catches for 65 yards. His size (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) makes him an option at both wide receiver and tight end, which will be of interest to teams pursuing his services.

Regardless of where he would fit as a Tar Heel, North Carolina is looking to strengthen the roster all around, and adding playmakers is certainly on their “to-do” list.

Bill Belichick and the UNC football program have been very busy in the transfer portal as they look to acquire some experienced talent. A guy like Odom could be a great find, as he is a player who was used sparingly in his last outing, but could be a force to be reckoned with if given a larger role in his next destination.
