Atlanta Falcons’ Bijan Robinson reaches career milestones with Las Vegas Raiders

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had a productive Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders in which he set some important milestones.

Robinson surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark late in the first quarter, his first 1,000-yard season as a pro. Atlanta’s last runner to break the 1,000-yard mark was Tyler Allgeier in 2022.

With his strong night, Robinson surpassed Erric Pegram and Jerious Norwood on the all-time rushing list and moved into 17th place while also surpassing the 2,000-yard mark for his career.

But Robinson didn’t stop there.

The 22-year-old entered Monday needing just 85 scrimmage yards to surpass the 1,463 yards he reached as a rookie in 2023, and he surpassed that number at the end of the third quarter.

Robinson’s prime-time performance is just the next step in his breakout season, in which he has become Atlanta’s most consistent playmaker and one of the NFL’s best young runners.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris has often praised Robinson’s leadership skills and growth as a blocker, and the 2023 first-round pick’s overall elevation was statistically borne out Monday night.

“Bijan is an absolutely fantastic player who is a joy to work with every week,” Morris said on December 9th. “It’s without a doubt the mindset that we had when we talked about the role of Christian McCaffrey, and he came out and was able to do a lot of those things.

“He’s done even more than I expected when it comes to pass pros, when it comes to the toughness he brings to our table and the mindset he brings to our team.”

Now Robinson is a 1,000-yard runner.

“He’s a wonderful player and I’m so lucky to be able to coach him and have the opportunity to coach him,” Morris said. “I am blessed.”
