A fireplace spoke “wisdom” to me

Josh Brolin’s first taste of psychedelic drugs came early.

During his appearance on Thursday, December 12th, on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his recently released memoir From Under the Truckhost Jimmy Kimmel asked the dune The 56-year-old actor recounts his experience trying LSD for the first time at the age of 13.

Brolin, the son of actor James Brolin and casting director Jane Cameron Agee, was quick to explain that he and his friends in Santa Barbara, California, began experimenting with LSD “very early on,” even noting that some His buds formed an influential punk rock band called Rich Kids on LSD (RKL).

“RKL never got any time because they used too much LSD, but it was a good time,” Brolin remembers. “And I had a great trip. I really had an incredible time – at 13 years old your brain is still developing. It’s probably not the best time to start the drug, but I really had a great time. I saw a fireplace talking.” For me, who said some nice things, I didn’t like what he said. It was like a caress, it was wisdom.

“Because like a drunk, when you drink alcohol you say, ‘Let’s go to the bar and do it again,’ the next night and the next night and the next,” said Brolin, who has been sober since 2013. added. “So I got into the habit of doing things again. This trip wasn’t so good. Not nice conversation. There was a lot of fire, but no fireplace.”

When Kimmel asked Brolin if he would now dissuade the 13-year-old version of himself from trying LSD at that age, Brolin joked, “Dude, I can’t – you can’t put me in that position.” Because it’s like every 13-year-old who watches your show – because it’s your largest demographic.”

“Don’t do LSD. Don’t do LSD, kids,” he said while staring into the camera, before turning to Kimmel and adding, “It was the best thing I ever did.”
