Live Updates: School Shooting in Madison, Wisconsin, Suspect Identified as Abundant Life Christian School Student

According to CNN affiliate WTMJ, authorities on Monday were investigating a residential property north of Madison, Wisconsin, just eight miles from Abundant Life Christian School, where two people were killed in a shooting on Monday.

Videos show a house decorated with Christmas lights and cordoned off with police tape. The main door had been removed and the windows damaged. Neighbors saw police throw stun grenades into the home early in the afternoon, which exploded with a bright flash and a loud bang, WTMJ reported.

Neighbors told WTMJ that officers arrived in the early afternoon, shortly after the shooting, and would be in and out until nightfall.

“I heard the news this afternoon and thought we’d just drive past Main Street and there it was,” a neighbor told WTMJ. “The front door was ripped off and no one was around and investigators are in there cleaning up the mess.”

Earlier Monday, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said the suspect’s home had been searched and police were awaiting additional search warrants. The 15-year-old suspect’s family has cooperated with law enforcement so far, and police do not plan to charge the parents in connection with the shooting “at this time,” Barnes said.

He confirmed that the heavy police presence at a north Madison home was related to the shooting investigation, but gave no further details.
