During an interview on “Fox News Live” on Sunday, House Oversight Chairman and GOP member Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., endorsed committee member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Democratic congresswoman from New York wants to take over the highest-ranking representative from her fellow Democrat Jamie Raskin.

The Kentucky Republican declared his support after being questioned by co-host Arthel Neville.

ARTHEL NEVILLE: Of course you are a member House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. The Chairman. I understand you are also a member of the AOC fan club. In addition to having a good working relationship, what leadership qualities would make Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez an effective supervisor in the rankings?

REP. JAMES COMER, R-KY.: I think if you look at the current leadership with the Oversight Committee on the Democratic side, Jamie Raskin will be at the helm. So the Democrats have no choice but to go up. Jamie Raskin was wrong.

ARTHEL NEVILLE: Then how will AOC make you rise – or make the Democrats rise?

REP. JAMES COMER, R-KY.: Yes, well, she speaks better. Look, I think that, you know, that Democrats turn against AOC. My support of AOC is probably hurting her, which I find amusing. They want to go back to another boring old man like Gerry Connolly. But look, AOC is, you know, I think she represents a large portion of the Democratic Party that believes in socialism, that believes in the Green New Deal, that believes in wokeism. So if the Democrats want a real Democrat on their side to lead the Oversight Committee, I think AOC is perfect for them.

ARTHEL NEVILLE: What about their leadership skills?

REP. JAMES COMER, R-KY.: Well, you know, I mean, luckily she’s in the minority, so she doesn’t really have to display a lot of leadership skills. They’ll just try to complain and obstruct and do things like that. But I think AOC is the best there is, If that tells you anything about the Democrats on the Oversight Committee. I think AOC is the best thing they have.

ARTHEL NEVILLE: Can you say anything positive about the way she might lead?

REP. JAMES COMER, R-KY.: She is much nicer than Jamie Raskin and is pleasant to be around. So, yeah, again they have no choice but to go after Jamie Raskin.
