Conor McGregor says he is ready to fight Logan Paul in India

Conor McGregor says he intends to postpone his return to MMA and has agreed to fight Logan Paul in a boxing competition in India.

McGregor, a former two-weight UFC champion, has not fought since breaking his leg in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June, but pulled out with a foot injury.

“The rumors of a fight with (Ilia) Topurio are false,” McGregor said in a post on X on Tuesday.

“I have made tentative arrangements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing competition in India. I agreed. I will then aim for my return to the Octagon.”

Paul, who is also a YouTuber, has competed in four boxing matches, including a draw and loss against KSI, a draw against Floyd Mayweather and a win against MMA fighter Dillon Danis.

However, he gained greater fame through his time in the WWE, where he won the US Championship in November 2023.

McGregor has only taken part in a professional boxing match once – against Mayweather in 2017. which ended in a 10th round TKO loss.

The Irish fighter was found liable by a civil jury in Dublin last month in a case in which a woman said McGregor sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in December 2018.

The High Court in Dublin ordered him to pay €248,000 ($257,000) to the complainant. McGregor, who told the court he had consensual sex with the woman, said he planned to appeal the decision.

He is currently not facing criminal charges in connection with the case, although several companies have withdrawn products related to McGregor.
