Michael Buble releases new single “Maybe This Christmas” featuring Carly Pearce

He is a five-time GRAMMY winner who has dedicated his career to preserving timeless songs from the Great American Songbook while demonstrating his incredible versatility whether singing pop, jazz or R&B.

Thanks to his best-selling 2011 album, Michael Buble has become a familiar face and voice around the holidays Christmas. The album is so popular that every year when December rolls around, it climbs back up the charts on its own.

Now “Buble” has a new song to add to the list.

“Maybe This Christmas” will likely resonate with anyone who may be facing the challenge of spending another holiday alone or who has had this experience in the past. Buble, who wrote it, says it’s a song about two people shaking hands with each other, with one saying, “It hurts me,” and the other saying, “I hear you and I love you and I.” “thinking of you.” .”

He recorded with country artist Carly Pearce. The two sat down in Nashville to talk about why they both think the song is so special.

“Honestly, because it comes from so deep within myself,” Buble explained. “It’s something that happened to me, something I went through, and sometimes God just gives you the words. Sometimes you’re just a mediator.”

“This song has so much heart,” Pearce said. “It speaks to people who feel alone at Christmas and don’t have a song that expresses that sadness and emptiness that so many are walking around and feeling. I love moments where you can make people feel seen and I think we can do that. And again I feel honored that Michael asked me to be a part of it.”

“Buble” is a country music fan who knew Pearce. He invited her to serve as a playoff consultant for his team The voice.

He is a member of the coaching panel this year alongside Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.

“I love Snoop, I love Reba and I love Gwen,” Buble explained. “And what I love most about them is that it’s not a game; It’s not a TV show where the cameras turn on and they turn into these fake people. They were there for these kids and are still there for these kids, even the ones who didn’t win. And when I reached out to Carly, I wanted someone who could help me advocate for these young artists.”

After meeting Pearce, he asked her to join him as a duet partner for this song.

(Instead of going to a studio, the pair recorded their vocals for the song using the Voice Memo app on an iPhone 16 Pro. The app creates two individual tracks so users can apply additional mixing and production in professional apps like Logic Pro .Producer Greg Wells helped bring it all together.)

Buble’ and Pearce performed “Maybe This Christmas” in the first part of The voice Finale on Monday, December 9th, the evening before Buble and his artist Sofronio were crowned season winners.

Less than a week later, Grand Ole Opry member Pearce returned the favor. She welcomed Bublé to Nashville for his first-ever appearance on country music’s home stage.

“It was mind-blowingly amazing,” Buble’ said. “Being in this historic, incredible place with all these iconic people. I enter this famous circle for the first time ever as the Opry prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversaryTh Anniversary. I kept thinking: This can’t be true.”

As Bublé celebrates his latest Christmas song, he admits there was a time when he was teased a lot for his close connection to Christmas. There were jokes and endless internet memes, and that always bothered him until he got a wake-up call that put his entire life and the things that mattered most to him into perspective.

“I remember when my son was sick and everything became clear to me,” Bublé recalled. (His son, now in remission, was diagnosed with liver cancer at age three.) “He was diagnosed on Halloween day and by December we were in the hospital. I thought about how I had been worried about how people saw me and how they would make these jokes, and I had this moment of clarity. I thought, “My God, these beautiful souls around the world have invited you into their home to celebrate something so beautiful and rich and personal, and you are allowing your ego or your insecurities to see it in a light that touched you.” is not positive. I realized there was no greater compliment.”

Today he remains “overwhelmed” by the support he receives from fans around the world. And always grateful.

“I love Christmas, I love my faith and I love these songs.”

And he believes this new one has all the hallmarks of a Christmas classic that people will be listening to for years to come.

“You asked me why this was special. It couldn’t come from a more real place,” Buble said. “Sometimes the emotion is authentic when you tell the truth. It is something that other people may feel but are unable to express. These are the songs that move people.”
