No. 4 Huskies face Iowa State in the HOF Women’s Showcase

HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 4 UConn women’s basketball team (9-1) will face Iowa State (9-3) in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FS1 and UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).

The Huskies are 41-1 all-time at Mohegan Sun Arena.

UConn opened conference play on Sunday with a 79-44 win over Georgetown. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers led the Huskies with 24 points on 11-16 shooting. Freshmen Sarah Strong posted her second double-double of the season with 17 points and a personal best 14 rebounds. UConn had 25 assists on 32 made field goals and had 30 points on turnovers.

UConn is 2-1 all-time against Iowa State. This is the first meeting between the teams since the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

Iowa State defeated Eastern Illinois 87-55 on Sunday. This season, the Audi Crooks lead the Cyclones and rank 10th nationally in scoring at 21.6 points per game. Emily Ryan leads the nation with 87 assists. Head coach Bill Fennelly is in his 30th season at Iowa State.

UConn returns to Hartford this Saturday to host No. 7 USC in a top-10 matchup at a sold-out XL Center at 8 p.m. on FOX. Saturday’s game is a White Out – all fans attending the game are encouraged to wear WHITE!
