Takeaways

Bruins: Lindholm traveled back to Calgary for the first time since joining the Vancouver Canucks in January, ultimately signing a seven-year contract with Boston as a free agent. After scoring a career-high 42 goals with the Flames during the 2021-22 season, Lindholm scored his first goal in twelve games.

Flames: After a poor start in which they lost all 11 faceoffs in the first period, Calgary finished faceoff 16:34.

Key moment

Trailing by two early in the third period, Boston equalized as Geekie picked up its sixth win of the year at 4:14. Less than three minutes later, McLaughlin equalized with a strange shot in which he fired his original shot but ended up going into the net and scoring his own rebound.

Key statistics

With a score of 3-1 after 40 minutes, it is the first time this season that Calgary has lost a lead after two periods of play. The Flames entered the night 7-0-0 and were one of six NHL teams that were perfect in this situation.
