CJ Harris threw for 109 yards and completed 13 of 20 passes before getting injured in the third quarter. Following this injury, first-year signal-caller EJ Caminong debuted and played his first college football game. Caminong contributed 57 passing yards and 18 rushing yards to the statistics.

The Golden Bears’ only touchdown against the Rebels came at the end of the first quarter, bringing the score to 10-7 in Cal’s favor. First-year wide receiver Josiah Martin found the end zone on a 29-yard reverse, capping a nine-play, 89-yard drive.

While California outgained UNLV by 348 yards to 291, the nationally ranked Rebels frustrated and outscored the ACC team.

The Rebels scored three touchdowns at SoFi Stadium. The first score came in the first quarter on a 49-yard reception from Kayden “Big Play” McGee that helped bring the score to 7-3.

UNLV’s second trip to the end zone came after a fake punt early in the second quarter that turned a fourth-and-seven into a first-and-goal. UNLV punter Marshall Nichols threw a 52-yard pass to the defensive back Cameron Oliver from his own 37, which was caught at the 42-yard line and advanced to the Cal 9-yard line. Jacob De Jesus, the senior receiver, scored a nine-yard touchdown on the next play.
