Jim Ross is hoping for a big AEW reunion

Jim Ross would love to see a legendary tag team reunite for another run in AEW.

One of the most popular teams during their time in WWE, Edge and Christian won the Tag Team Championships seven times and contributed thanks to their work with The Hardys and The Dudleys in ladder and TLC matches, most notably the legendary TLC 2 Help revolutionize the industry match at WrestleMania 17.

Since Edge chose not to re-sign with WWE in 2023, the Hall of Famer later made his socks debut at AEW WrestleDream under his real name, Adam Copeland. Although Copeland sought a reunion with Christian Cage as part of the promotion so they could both ride off into the sunset on their own terms, Cage had other plans as he told his former best friend, “Fuck yourself.”

What followed was a feud over the TNT Championship, with Copeland ultimately emerging victorious over his former friend and rival. At the time of writing, Copeland remains on an injury layoff after suffering a broken tibia at Double or Nothing. If Copeland returns, Ross hopes the E&C can eventually resolve their differences.

Discuss the duo on his Grilling JR On the podcast, Ross was asked if there was a chance that Cage and Copeland could get back on the same page:

“Yes, there is always a chance. I would be for it because I know their natural chemistry is amazing. I’ve seen her at her best, and that’s not a bad idea at this stage of her career. If you want to add some pizzazz and pizzazz to your tag team division, this isn’t a bad place to start.”

When does Jim Ross’ AEW contract expire?

Earlier this year, Ross announced that he had signed a new contract with AEW that would see him work primarily on pay-per-view appearances and occasional TV tapings. Jim Ross also revealed in his podcast when the current AEW contract will be extended.

Inside The Ropes will present Tales From Titan: An Intimate Evening with Jim Ross in January and February 2025. Limited tickets for the shows can be purchased here.

H/t to Fightful.
