Taco Bell’s chicken nuggets are here — but the new dipping sauces might be the real star

Now you finally officially have another place to enjoy chicken nuggets.

On Tuesday, Taco Bell announced that its highly anticipated Crispy Chicken Nuggets are finally officially hitting menus nationwide on December 19th. But that’s not all. According to the brand, the menu drop also includes three new dipping sauces, including the first-ever Ranch collaboration with Hidden Valley.

“As the creator of Nacho Fries, Taco Bell fully understands that reinventing an American classic with a Taco Bell twist is a responsibility we do not take lightly. But in a world dominated by chicken cravings, it was time to show the world how Taco Bell makes chicken nuggets—unexpectedly and undeniably bold,” Taylor Montgomery, the chain’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement opposite Food & Wine. “The Crispy Chicken Nuggets provide a crispier, more flavorful nugget experience and when combined with the Hidden Valley Fire Ranch Sauce, we hope they will test people’s devotion to their favorite nuggets.”

The team at Taco Bell really took their time perfecting this new dip addition, noting that their chefs tested more than 100 variations to arrive at the final trio. The best of the best includes the aforementioned Hidden Valley Fire Ranch Sauce, which they describe as “a spicy, tangy dipping sauce that takes the new crispy chicken nuggets to the next level,” along with the Bell Sauce, which is “a familiar , rich, creamy and spicy signature blend with subtle chili notes from tomatoes, red chilies and garlic” and the jalapeño honey mustard, the “sweet and “Spiciness combined” for just the right amount of kick.

“We are excited to partner with Taco Bell on the new Hidden Valley Fire Ranch Sauce, which combines the bold flavors of Hidden Valley Ranch with the signature heat of Taco Bell,” added CC Ciafone, director of marketing for Hidden Valley Ranch. “Ranch and chicken nuggets are an iconic combination, so it just made sense to create a ranch that perfectly complements Taco Bell’s unique take on nuggets.”

Of course, none of the dips would exist without the new chicken nuggets, which are breaded with tortilla chips and have a unique flavor that is only available at Taco-Bell.

Fans can purchase the new nuggets in a 5-piece order with one dipping sauce for $3.99 or a 10-piece order with two dipping sauces for $6.99. (Combo deals are also available.) But if you want to try them out, you’ll want to act quickly. As Taco Bell says, they will only be at participating locations “for a limited time.”

If you’re a Taco Bell Rewards member, you can try them out for just $1 on January 21, 2025. You just need to be one of the first 20,000 users to redeem the five-piece Crispy Chicken Nugget, available in the app at exactly 2 p.m. PT.

There is another way for Rewards members to score a deal. Throughout December, after trying the new nuggets and sauces, fans can return their used and empty dip cups to TerraCyle through the brand’s recycling program and earn 80 bonus Taco Bell Rewards points to use toward a future purchase – you you know, for more nuggets.
