The internet is reacting to Nick Fuentes’ viral bodycam footage and his claim that he is Mexican

Nick Fuentes, a controversial far-right commentator, has sparked widespread reaction online after police bodycam footage of his arrest went viral.

In the footage, Fuentes denies being a white supremacist, saying: “I am Mexican. My last name is Fuentes.” The video, recorded during an incident in November 2024, shows Fuentes being questioned by police after he pepper-sprayed a woman who showed up at his home in Illinois after his address had been doxxed online.

The footage, uploaded to YouTube on December 18 by channel The CrimePiece, quickly reached over 19,000 views. Social media platforms erupted, with X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit leading the discussions. X user @ApostateProphet shared the video and commented: “He folded very quickly.”

Memes ridiculing Fuentes flooded the internet, with captions like “I’m not white, I’m Mexican” and labels like “burrito supremacist” becoming viral trends.

The controversy has reignited debates about Fuentes’ political affiliation and online personality. While some ridicule his statement, others use the footage to question his previous rhetoric. Fuentes faces assault charges related to the pepper spray incident
