  • AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita will be in action for DDT Pro Wrestling on January 3rd, fighting for the promotion in Japan for the first time since July. He is also scheduled for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4th and Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th.
  • The Butcher (Andy Williams) celebrated the five-year anniversary of his AEW debut and wrote that he loves everything the promotion allows him to do:
    • Yesterday it was 5 years for me with @aew. I feel like I’ve lived 50 lives since then. Monocle, trouser sash, long hair, tassels, fat, tattered, bald, Malenko trunks, bunkhouse butch, white clothes, etc. Now I’m a gunman or something. I love what this company has enabled me to do.
  • Chris Van Vliet asked Jake “The Snake” Roberts if it bothers him that he never won a WWE Championship:
    • No, not at all. My God, I’m grateful I didn’t have to wear that too. You know, I was carrying around a 50, 60, 75 pound snake, and we were on the road for two, three weeks at a time, all your clothes, everything you have to wear, the last thing I want is a 10 – Pound belt to take with you. Would I have liked a championship? Yes, of course. You know, that would have been something, but I had had several championships by then. Maybe not the WWF Championship, but I’ve had several – Calgary, I’ve had them in Louisiana and the Mid-South. I had it in Texas. I’ve had it in various locations in the mid-Atlantic. So I had my time with the belts. I mean, everything was fine. I would have liked the money that came with that belt. But how can I complain about my career?
  • Speaking to TV Insider, Eric Bischoff reacted to the 30th anniversary of WCW Nitro’s debut next year:
    • My show 83 Weeks is a nostalgia show, so I always delve into the history of the Monday Night War with WWE and WCW and all the things that happened during that time. I live in this time. In this sense, this time was yesterday for me. The Mall of America when you say that was almost 30 years ago? I think, “No chance.” In many ways it seems like yesterday, but in other ways it feels like an eternity.
  • Due to an injury sustained during pre-match training, NJPW Young Lion Masatora Yasuda was forced to miss tonight’s World Tag League event. His scheduled pre-show match against Daiki Nagai was removed from the card.
  • Amazing Red is the latest talent confirmed for the GCW show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Sunday, January 19th.
  • Josh Barnett vs. Royce Isaacs in a Bloodsport match has been announced for GCW’s Highest in the Room event on Saturday, December 14th in Los Angeles.
  • Slam Wrestling released an obituary honoring wrestler/actor/stuntman Scott L. Schwartz, who passed away this week at the age of 65.
