DENVER (KDVR) – The Denver Broncos will play another standalone game on Saturday after a National Football League decision led to a schedule change.

The Broncos were originally scheduled to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, December 29th.

According to the Broncos organization, the game had previously been listed as one of five games that had the potential to be played as a stand-alone game on the Saturday prior to the usual Week 17 Sunday games.

The announcement means the Broncos will play their fourth standalone game of the season, with previous matchups against the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers all scheduled as standalone games.

Saturday’s game against the Bengals will take place in the middle of an NFL tripleheader. The day begins with the Los Angeles Chargers against the New England Patriots, followed by the Broncos away game at the Bengals and ends with the Arizona Cardinals against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Chargers are hot on the Broncos’ heels, sitting at 8-6 compared to the Broncos’ record of 9-5. Currently, the Broncos are ranked sixth in the AFC and have a 91% chance of making the post-season, and the Chargers are ranked seventh and have an 87% chance of making the post-season.

The two teams will also play each other in Week 16.

The Broncos will face the Bengals in a road game at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday, December 28th at 2:30 p.m.
