Cool mornings are ahead after the Thanksgiving cold front

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB)

OUTLOOK TO BLACK FRIDAY

We’re feeling much cooler this Black Friday morning as cold and dry air filtered through yesterday behind a cold front. Winds will continue as clouds clear throughout the day. Although skies will be mostly sunny in the afternoon, temperatures will struggle to climb above the upper 50s by the afternoon.

Cool mornings lie ahead

A freeze warning will go into effect late tonight through early Saturday morning with temperatures falling into the mid 30s. Be sure to cover or bring any sensitive plants inside.

The colder air will continue to move in from the north, resulting in several cool mornings in the Baton Rouge area and possibly below freezing temperatures in areas of southern Mississippi and north of I-10.

OUTLOOK FOR THE WEEKEND

Cool and dry conditions will continue into the weekend. Temperatures will remain in the mid-50s Saturday in New Orleans for the Bayou Classic.

And expect a chilly kickoff at Tiger Stadium in the low 50s, dropping to the mid 40s by game’s end.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK

We’ll get another burst of dry, cool air over the weekend, keeping temperatures below normal until early next week.
