Henry County teacher disappeared after student accused him of trying to have sex with her – WSB-TV Channel 2

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. – Channel 2 action news has learned new details in the case of a Henry County teacher originally reported missing.

The Henry County School District placed him on administrative leave following allegations that he sexually abused a student at Union Grove High School.

Rodney Freeman’s family reported him missing because they haven’t seen him since Tuesday, but as Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes began digging into this story on Thursday. People in the community tipped her off that police were investigating Freeman for sexually assaulting a student at his school.

According to the school’s website, Freeman is a senior naval science instructor at Union Grove High School, where he oversees the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

According to police, a 17-year-old girl accused Freemen of trying to have sex with her. The girl’s father went to the police.

Police said they tried to talk to Freeman, but he acted as an attorney and then disappeared.

The Henry County School District said Freeman has been placed on administrative leave.

“He has since been the subject of a missing person investigation and a warrant has been issued for his arrest in connection with an off-campus incident,” the district said in a statement.

So far, police don’t know where Freeman is.
