Police looking for man who punched woman in the face in downtown Atlanta

The incident occurred during the day on Nov. 21 on Baker Street next to Centennial Olympic Park and the World of Coca-Cola, police said.

Officials released a video of the attack, which showed the victim covered up. In the footage, the victim and suspect are walking in opposite directions on the sidewalk when the suspect, seemingly unprovoked, suddenly punches the woman in the face. The video shows her immediately falling to the ground as the suspect stumbles backwards and then falls to the ground himself. He quickly gets up, walks towards the woman on the ground and pauses for a moment before he starts running across the street.

The footage shows at least six witnesses in the immediate area, including two people who were walking directly behind the woman. Both witnesses who were closest to the attack quickly backed away after the man’s punch.

A second surveillance video shows the suspect walking down another street in downtown Atlanta near Centennial Olympic Park. As he walks past a large commercial building, the man takes off his jacket, tosses it aside and leaves it on the sidewalk.

Police have not released any further information about the case, including the victim’s age or the reason for the attack. They also did not say whether the suspect took anything from the victim.
