Winter weather warning issued for parts of New York State. Check out the latest snow forecasts

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of New York state, effective at various times Friday morning.

New York winter weather advisory issued

Affected areas include: Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties. Valid from Friday to Saturday morning; and Wayne, Northern Cayuga and Ontario Counties. Valid from Friday to Saturday night.

How much snow will there be in northern New York?

Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected in affected regions.

Travel conditions are affected

  • The roads become snowy and slippery.

  • Travel conditions are expected to worsen, particularly during the commute this evening and into Saturday.

  • Limited visibility makes driving dangerous.
