The franchise features the voices of Bruce Willis, Joan Rivers, Roseanne Barr, Damon Wayans, Mel Brooks, Danny DeVito and Diane Keaton.

Now, over 30 years after the last sequel, the franchise has received an update from its creator Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the first two films. During a recent interview with Rich on the 35th anniversary of the original film, Heckerling announced that she is writing a new script for the film Look who’s talking franchise alongside her daughter Mollie, who actually inspired the original film in 1985. Who knows if this will become a “thing,” but I’m excited. I’m not done with (look who’s talking)… She looked at us, we looked at her. Suddenly (we) started ad-libbing things she might say. In my head I was like, “Oh no. That will be my next film.” …Family oriented and sweet – and I don’t feel like that’s me. But that was the idea I had.

While Heckerling is working on a script for the franchise, it is uncertain whether the project will ever be greenlit. Although the original film was a huge box office success, The first sequel earned less than half of its predecessor and did poorly with critics. Look who’s speaking now!Written and directed by Tom Ropelewski, The Movie was both a critical and commercial failure, becoming one of the rare films to receive a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, if there is anyone who can revive the franchise, it is Heckerling, who brought the original film to great success and saved it John Travolta‘s career.
