Record it in the burn book.

ESPN college football analyst and former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy wants the Longhorns to stop trying to use their arch-manning skills ahead of Saturday’s first-round College Football Playoff game against No. 12 seed Clemson. to make the experiment a success.

During an appearance on Friday’s episode of “Get Up,” McElroy used a reference from the movie “Mean Girls” when discussing Texas potentially benching quarterback Quinn Ewers for second-year signal-caller.

“There’s a moment in the ‘Mean Girls’ movie where you say, ‘Stop trying to make Fetch happen,'” said McElroy, who led the Crimson Tide to the 2010 national championship.

“That’s kind of what I’m going to say about this Arch thing. Now let’s stop trying to make Arch his uncles.”

The 19-year-old redshirt freshman, a product of Isidore Newman High School, is the nephew of NFL QB legends Peyton and Eli and grandson of Archie Manning Sr.

McElroy said the No. 5 Longhorns should rely on Ewers for their second straight College Football Playoff appearance, even though Texas’ offense has regressed this season.

“He’ll get there,” the former Jets quarterback said of Manning. “He will be a great player in time. I really believe in its benefits. I believe in his mobility. I think he could seriously have a package in this system. I think in these playoffs it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on the field in the red zone. But being on the field right now for anything other than a situational play would, in my opinion, be detrimental to an offense that likely needs to claw its way to victory.

“You have to make it to the national championship… I think Arch will be a great player situationally, but at this point Quinn is your guy and should hopefully lead you to the promised land if you’re a Longhorn fan.”

Manning won both starts this season, throwing four touchdowns and rushing for another, while Ewers was sidelined with an oblique injury.

He has proven his effectiveness as a dual-threat quarterback.

Ewers is expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft after this season, paving the way for Manning to take the starting job in Austin.

Rumors recently surfaced online that Ewers — who has struggled at times this season and battled injuries — could return to Texas.

He threw 25 touchdowns that season, a career-best.

Earlier this week, Ewers was reserved when asked about his future.

“I’m not sure yet, I’m just trying to win these games,” he told reporters on Monday. “I didn’t think about anything beyond that.”

The Longhorns host Clemson on Saturday at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.

The game will air at 4:00 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN.
