Mega Millions winning numbers for 12/20/24: $862 million lottery jackpot

Have you had any luck? Five days before Christmas, a Mega Millions player could receive an early gift worth nearly $1 billion in prize money.

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot rose to an estimated $862 million in Friday’s drawing.

According to the lottery, the jackpot was estimated to be $392.1 million after taxes.

The winning numbers were drawn just after 11pm ET on Friday, and we have the results below.

In March, one lucky Mega Millions player from New Jersey won a whopping $1.1 billion, although that prize has yet to be claimed. It’s not the first time a jackpot has gone unclaimed.

The winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing on Friday, December 20th are 2, 20, 51, 56, 67 and a golden mega ball from 19. The Megaplier was 2X.

How to play Mega Millions

To purchase a ticket, you’ll need to visit your local supermarket, gas station, or convenience store – and in a few states you can purchase tickets online.

To play you must select six numbers. Five numbers are white balls ranging from 1 to 70. The gold mega ball is a number between 1 and 25.

If you think the odds are stacked against you, ask for a “Quick Pick” or an “Easy Pick.” The computer then randomly generates the numbers for you.

Players can add the “Megaplier” for $1, which can increase non-top prize winnings by two, three, four or five times. The Megaplier is drawn on Tuesday and Friday before the Mega Millions numbers.
