A cold front is moving into Florida, but a warm Christmas awaits in Daytona

For anyone looking to cozy up and feel Christmassy, this weekend is the time to break out the scarves.

A cold front will move through Volusia-Flagler overnight Friday into Saturday, dropping temperatures for the weekend. But the cool temperatures won’t last long.

Flagler County will see low temperatures in the high 40s Saturday morning, said Ben Nelson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jacksonville. Highs are expected to be in the upper 50s to around 60s on Saturday and Sunday.

“We have another cold front tonight and that will make it feel like Christmas this weekend,” Nelson said. “It won’t last long.”

On a rainy Monday evening, December 16, 2024, visitors view the Christmas lights and decorations at the Twi-Light II Motel.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s in Flagler on Christmas Day – still not warm by Florida standards, but probably not warm weather for most.

Weather in Volusia County on Christmas

Volusia County can expect a similar situation, said Brendan Schaper, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
