Notes and Stats: Giants vs. Cowboys Summary

*Rookie Malik Nabers led all receivers with eight catches for 69 yards. Nabers increased his season total to 75 catches, the highest total by a player in his first 10 career games in NFL history. He passed Odell Beckham, Jr., who like Nabers is a former LSU star and the Giants’ first draft choice; fellow rookie Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers; and Puka Nacua of the Rams, who set the No. 1 record last season.

MOST RECEPTIONS / FIRST 10 CAREER GAMES

*Tracy’s one-yard touchdown run with 3:06 remaining in the first quarter gave the Giants a 7-3 lead, their first lead since their 29-20 win at Seattle on Oct. 6. After Dallas opened the scoring with a field goal, the Giants drove 70 yards in 13 plays and scored a touchdown on their first offensive series for the second time this season and first since September 15 in Washington.

*Under Brian Daboll, the Giants are 2-2 in regular season games in which they score a first possession touchdown, plus 1-0 in the playoffs.

*Tracy’s touchdowns gave the Giants their first first-half points since their game against Washington on November 3rd.

*Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown scored Dallas’ first touchdown when he hit a lockscreen pass in the air, then caught the ball intended for Devin Singletary and returned it 23 yards to the end zone. It was Overshown’s first interception in his 11 career games this season.

Overshown scored his third defensive touchdown of the season against the Giants and his second on an interception return. On September 8, Minnesota’s Andrew Van Ginkel intercepted a pass from Daniel Jones and returned it 10 yards for a score. The Seahawks’ Rayshawn Jenkins fumbled an Eric Gray fumble on Oct. 6 in Seattle and returned it 102 yards for a touchdown.

*Overshown also made up for Lock’s fumble in the third quarter.

*Singletary made his first start since Sept. 26 in the first Giants-Cowboys game of the season. Tracy had started the last seven games. Singletary rushed for 23 yards on seven carries, while Tracy gained 32 yards on nine attempts and caught two passes for 33 yards.

*The Giants, who had an NFL-high 35 sacks in their first eight games, did not record a sack for the third time in their last four games. You only have one sack in this period of time.

*The Giants did not intercept a pass at the 11Th consecutive game, an NFL record. They were tied with the 1976-77 San Francisco 49ers and the 2017 Oakland Raiders.

*The Giants’ 131 net passing yards were their second-lowest total of the season; they had 43 yards against Philadelphia.

*Dallas’ six sacks were the second-most total allowed by the Giants this season; The Eagles had eight sacks on October 20th.

*The Giants have not forced a turnover and have lost their last nine games in which they did not have a takeaway. Their last win without a takeaway was on September 17, 2023 in Arizona.

*The Giants had a turnover differential of minus-2, the 12th straight game they did not have a positive turnover differential, extending the longest single-season streak in franchise history. The Giants are 2-4 in games with a zero turnover differential and 0-6 when it is minus-1 or minus-2.

*The Giants had 13 accepted penalties, the highest total in Brian Daboll’s three seasons as head coach. The previous high was 11 exactly a month ago in Pittsburgh.

*This was the Giants’ first indoor game of the season. Last year they played indoors in Arizona, Las Vegas and New Orleans. The Giants are 34-37 in regular season indoor games but 3-0 in the postseason.

*The Giants’ inactive players were tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (quad), cornerbacks Deonte Banks (rib) and Tre Hawkins, safety Anthony Johnson, guard Jake Kubas, tight end Greg Dulcich and DeVito, who was designated as the third quarterback because he had a has injury to right forearm.

*With Eluemunor sidelined, Chris Hubbard played the entire game at left tackle for the third time this season.

*Adoree’ Jackson made his first start of the season in place of cornerback Deonte Banks, who was sidelined with a rib injury. Jackson had seven tackles (four solo) and one pass defensed.

*The Giants are 7-7-3 on Thanksgiving, including 0-3 in Dallas. All 17 games were away, the most in NFL history by a team that has never had a Thanksgiving home game.
