SPIDER-MAN actress Laura Harrier calls out SPIDER-VERSE star Shameik Moore: ‘You like weirdness’

Shameik Moore, who provides the voice of Miles Morales in the animated series Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Movies, recently made headlines after she shared a social media post that many people viewed as a reaction to Hailee Steinfeld’s (Spider-Gwen) announcement of her engagement.

“There are more people to meet. There are even more options available. And even more ways to try it out. Live, learn, apply.” the actor tweeted.

Moore later denied that his post had anything to do with Steinfeld’s news: “I had no idea Hailee was engaged! That’s amazing, I’m here thinking about my goals for 2024 extending into 2025. God’s timing.”

This may have simply been an out-of-time and out-of-context post, but it’s not the first time Moore has been accused of “sneaking up” on his co-star, and a compilation video of the actor appears to make Steinfeld uncomfortable during interviews soon followed.

Some believe Moore has been treated unfairly online, but his recent actions may be a little harder to defend.

Spider-Man: Homecoming And Far away from home Actress Laura Harrier (Liz Allen/Toomes) shared a video on social media in which she criticized Moore for posting a year-old photo of the two together at a party with the caption “Coming Soon.”

Harrier says she texted Moore at the time and asked him to take the picture down because she was engaged and didn’t want people to think there was something going on between them, and decided to respond when she realized that the image was still online.

“I texted him: ‘Hey, can you take this off?’ “I don’t know why you’re posting this, I’m getting married, I don’t like that insinuation. It’s still going… You’re a fucking weirdo.”

Again, it’s not nearly as easy to pass this off as a coincidence or a misinterpretation of Moore’s comments/posts. Moore has since deleted the photo and shared the following response.

“After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s friendly, full-time neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the multiverse where he encounters a team of Spider-People tasked with protecting his existence. However, when the heroes argue over how to deal with a new threat, Miles must face the other spiders. He will soon have to redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
