Brittany Murphy was a Hollywood star like no other before her tragic death.

Born in November 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Brittany’s (full name: Brittany Anne Murphy-Monjack) parents, Sharon Murphy And Angelo Bertolotti separated when she was 2 years old. After she and her mother moved to New Jersey, she became interested in acting.

Murphy got her big break on the sitcom Drexell’s class before appearing in critically and commercially acclaimed films such as: Clueless, Girl, interrupted, 8 mile And Uptown girl. After two failed engagements, she tied the knot Simon Monjack in 2007.

Murphy died unexpectedly in December 2009 at the age of 32, sending shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry. Her death was ruled an accident, with the official cause of death listed as pneumonia, anemia and prescription drug poisoning.

The mystery as to why Murphy appears to have not sought medical treatment is what Dr. Lisa Scheininwho conducted the actress’s autopsy, believes he continues to pique people’s interest. “I think that’s why people just won’t give it up,” she said exclusively Us weekly in December 2024. “When a celebrity dies, interest is often high, and then it just fades away.”

Makeup artist Trista Jordanwho worked with the actress on the film Something eviltold Us: “Brittany has touched the hearts of many people. She really was a sweetheart, but I don’t think she surrounded herself with the right people. I think if she hadn’t met Simon Monjack, she would probably still be alive.”
