“A way to keep us updated on the committee. Captivating,” Kiffin said sarcastically, letting the CFP selection committee know his true feelings about Indiana and SMU’s performance.

Well, Klatt heard enough of Kiffin’s criticism and responded to it, making it clear to the Rebels’ leader that they should have taken care of business when the opportunity was firmly within their grasp.

“If your team played half as well as you tweet, you’d probably be there,” Klatt replied, sending the social media world into a frenzy.

Unfortunately, Kiffin’s opinion on Ole Miss missing out on the CFP hasn’t changed since the decision was officially announced by the selection committee. He has made his thoughts clear on several occasions, pointing out the difference between playing in the SEC and playing in other conferences.

“I think that’s what you probably have to get used to as fans, teams that have lost multiple times in this conference,” Kiffin said, via Michael Katz on X. “…That’s why it’s just different, it’s just totally. “ different, and these comparisons with other conferences and the ACC and the Big 12.

“You might as well play in different leagues. No conferences, but different leagues. For example, here is the NFL, here is the SEC, here are those few Big Ten teams and then here is everyone else.”

Regardless, Joel Klatt and many other college football experts are tired of the whining of Lane Kiffin and many other SEC fans. In the future, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee may adjust the way it ranks its teams, but in 2024 there will be no choice but to let the round play out.
