THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Defense improves after slow start. Chattanooga started the game 11 of 19 from the field, which gave them a lead of as many as seven points in the first half. But in the end, the Mocs shot just 40.7%, scored just 27 points in the second half and committed 13 turnovers.

2. Balanced points key again. The Hoosiers had nine players in the scoring column and six scored eight or more points. It’s a recurring theme for IU – there isn’t just one player that opposing defenses have to stop. Bench contributions from Bryson Tucker with nine points and Kanaan Carlyle with eight points were part of a total of 25 points from the bench.

3. Reneau plays off mistakes, contributes on both sides. Indiana junior forward Malik Reneau struggled with fouls and turnovers. But he made crucial plays towards the end of the game and had 14 points and eight rebounds, including three on offense. and four assists. Reneau was very active on defense, adding three steals and a block.
