Can Ryan Day’s salary help pay Ohio State football players? Here’s what he said

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For college football traditionalists, the next sentence might be difficult to understand.

LSU’s Brian Kelly and Florida State’s Mike Norvell made headlines this week for using their salaries to help pay student-athletes at their respective schools.

“I was just focused on this game here,” Day said Monday. “I can tell you that there are always different things that everyone is keeping an eye on to figure out how to raise money for NIL at this time. No question. I know that figuring out how best to provide these opportunities to our players is a daily conversation here at Ohio State.”
