Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are facing backlash after making “out-of-touch” comments about being working class.

The couple, who were once social media’s lovable darlings due to their viral and hilarious jokes between each other, have recently faced difficult times after a series of “tone deaf” gaffes.

In the most recent incident, the rich and famous couple alluded to their “working class” roots, which left many social media users confused.

Lively is known as the daughter of Hollywood star Ernie Lively, who also played her on-screen father in her breakthrough role in TV The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005. She made her acting debut in the film SandmanDirected by her father.

Meanwhile, her mother Elaine was a talent agent and actress, while her older brother’s talent agent reportedly helped secure her role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants16 years old. Even though Reynolds’ father was a police officer and his mother worked in retail, fans responded to the couple’s comments.

When talking about raising their children, Reynolds said that the couple’s four children live comparatively glamorous lives compared to what they experienced growing up.

“We try to give them as normal a life as possible,” he said The Hollywood Reporter. “I try not to force on them the difference between their childhood and my childhood or my wife’s childhood.”

However, he then went further and made controversial comments about his social class.

“We both grew up working class, and I remember when they were very young I would always say or think, ‘Oh God, I would never have had such a gift as a child,’ or, ‘I would never have had the luxury.’ can afford to get takeout or whatever.”

“Quick Search: She grew up in Tarzana and went to Burbank High. Her entire family was in the entertainment business,” one person wrote in response.

“She was cast Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants when she was a teenager. At least there is middle class. Anyway, none of that matters because she’s rich and unbearable now. Bye”.

“You keep using the word ‘working class’. I don’t think it means what you think it means,” another slammed.

“I thought Blake Lively was a nepo baby…she’s very privileged,” said another confused observer.

This comes amid multiple reports warning that working-class representation in the arts and entertainment industries is at an all-time low. The discussion about nepotism and “Nepo babies” has also reached a peak recently, including among actors New girl Star Zooey Deschanel is trying to distance herself from her privileged upbringing.
