Hozier’s second Saturday Night Live His musical guest appearance featured “Too Sweet,” his 2024 standout, and the Pogues’ 1987 song “Fairytale of New York.”

“Maybe it’s the pessimist in me,” he said. “I thought to myself, ‘People don’t want to hear this stuff, we’ll just put it away.'”

The song turned out to be his highest-charting single since “Take Me to Church.”

Hozier later returned to the stage with a cover of the Irish folk-style ballad, which the Pogues had written as a duet and which appeared on their album If I should fall from the grace of God. The Christmas title has enjoyed great popularity since around the turn of the century, especially around the holidays in Great Britain and Ireland.

Hozier packed his Unreal Unearth He toured New Zealand last month and his last U.S. appearance was at the All Things Go Music Festival in Maryland in September. His next stateside date is currently scheduled for June in Milwaukee.
