Mark Zuckerberg reveals one of the first words he taught his third child

Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg revealed one of the first words he wanted to teach his third child. In a casual interview, Zuckerberg said: “Our one-year-old, one of the words we chose to teach her is what noises a bear makes. She just says ‘Grrr’.”

Zuckerberg then jokes and says it’s like “a third child thing.” He continued: “First Kids, it’s like I’m teaching you everything about the world. When you get to the third child, it’s like one of your four pieces of knowledge that teaches you what sounds a bear makes.”

Zuckerberg shared some fun details about his personal life during a conversation with “The Circuit” on Bloomberg Originals. He talked about his family life, lessons from the Roman Empire and how technology is changing and what it means to be human. Zuckerberg also discussed how the company’s latest AI model, Llama 3.1, will shape the future of business, technology and society.

Bloomberg visited Zuckerberg’s Lake Tahoe retreat to discuss his personal development as a leader and learned to wakesurf with Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan.

He told the station that he braids Max, his first child’s hair, every day.

When asked how he makes time for everything – the sports, the side hustles around fatherhood – Zuckerberg replied: “I actually think that the balance between the different things that you do helps you, all of those things to do better.”

“My parents emphasized that it was important to do more than just academics. I want our children to be like that too. We teach them surfing, jiu-jitsu and martial arts,” Zuckerberg added.

“I think they’re a little too young to learn how to hit, but I want to do it too,” he added.
