Best and worst players after defeating the Dolphins in Week 13

The Green Bay Packers continued their momentum on Thanksgiving Night, defeating the Miami Dolphins 30-17 and earning the team’s highest Pro Football Focus overall grade of the 2024 season.

In fact, the Packers have played their two best games by PFF rating in the last two weeks. Matt LaFleur’s team is 9-3 and is starting to play its best football in December.

Based on Pro Football Focus’ grades, here are the best and worst players in the Packers’ Week 13 win over the Dolphins:

Top 5 offenses

1. TE Tucker Kraft: 89.7
2. RB Josh Jacobs: 86.4
3. QB Jordan Love: 77.7
4. RB Chris Brooks: 77.3
5. WR Jayden Reed: 72.1

Kraft caught six passes for 78 yards, gained 61 yards after the catch and averaged 3.55 yards per route run. Jacobs forced 15 missed tackles – eight as a runner, seven as a receiver – and totaled over 100 yards. Love had an adjusted completion percentage of 88.5 and didn’t have a turnover-worthy game. Brooks gained 28 yards on three rushing attempts, caught two passes and was an excellent pass blocker. Reed caught two touchdown passes and forced three missed tackles on a 23-yard run.

Top 5 defense

1. S Xavier McKinney: 78.0
2. DE Arron Mosby: 73.9
3. CB Keisean Nixon: 73.5
4. DL Kenny Clark: 70.7
5. CB Eric Stokes: 69.7

McKinney made eight tackles without a miss and was solid in coverage. Mosby had a tackle for loss against a jet sweep. Nixon had seven tackles without a miss and a pass breakup on third down. Clark generated two pressures, including his first sack of the season. Stokes missed a tackle but allowed just two catches after seven yards of coverage.

Jenkins gave up the pressure, received his worst run-blocking grade of the season and was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness. Sims struggled as a run blocker. Walker gave up two rushing attempts in pass protection and had a false start. Myers was accused of giving up three pressures, including a quarterback hit. Rhyan didn’t give up the pressure, but received a poor run-blocking grade.

Defending the bottom 5

1. LB Eric Wilson: 43.8
2. S Evan Williams: 47.6
3. CB Javon Bullard: 53.5
4. DL Colby Wooden: 54.8
5. DE Rashan Gary: 58.7

Wilson and Williams both missed two tackles. Bullard allowed two catches and posted average marks in the run and in coverage. Wooden had no pressure over 10 pass-rushing snaps. Gary had four pressures and two stops, but had too many empty snaps in 43 snaps.

Special teams

Zayne Anderson produced two tackles and earned the team’s best special teams grade. Javon Bullard and Arron Mosby also had tackles. Mosby and Eric Wolson missed tackles. TJ Slaton was cited for interfering with a field goal and Daniel Whelan was charged with delay of game before a punt. Brandon McManus made all six of his kicks (three field goals, three extra points), Whelan had three punts inside the 20 and Keisean Nixon had a season-high 43-yard kickoff return.

Quarterback game

Jordan Love: 77.7

Love completed 15 of 18 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown from clean pockets and threw a touchdown pass under pressure without a turnover-worthy play. The Packers dropped two passes, leaving Love’s adjusted completion percentage at 88.5. He completed just two passes over 10 yards in the air (2 of 5), but was excellent in short areas (14 of 15, 170 yards). His average throw time was 2.49 seconds and he was under pressure on 10 of 28 dropbacks.

Stat knowing

In the cold, the Packers forced 23 missed tackles in a short week and against one of the NFL’s worst tackling teams. Josh Jacobs single-handedly forced 15. Jayden Reed forced three in one run. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks combined to force three misses. Dontayvion Wicks forced two misses and Tucker Kraft forced one. The Packers’ playmakers regularly gain extra yards with the ball in their hands.
