Jaguars’ Mac Jones evaluates performance compared to Jets and Scouts Raiders

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones spoke to the media on Wednesday and we were there for it all.

To hear what he said, watch below.

Jaguars running back Travis Etienne spoke earlier this week. Below is a transcript.

Q: What does he want to get out of the last three games?

Etienne: “For me it’s just important to continue playing the game correctly. I feel like I just go out there and try to do my best for my team week in and week out. Just go out there and put great things on tape and just try to be the best running back I can be for the team.”

Q: Is there any discussion within the team about head coach Doug Pederson’s status as head coach?

Etienne: “No, it’s not something we’re worried about because it’s out of our control anyway. To be honest, every week we focus on being 1-0. It’s kind of redundant, but I feel like every Sunday we try to do our best to put great things on film, put great things on tape and try to win games, but it didn’t work out this way.”

Q: Does the offense feel more comfortable with QB Mac Jones at the helm?

Etienne: “Yes, in a way, but I feel like everyone is on the same page in the game. We all just want to go out with a win and capture good things on tape. I feel like it finally clicked for us, we had a lot of stops, like we were quick on the ball. I feel like it took a lot of thinking and we just went out there and played football.”

Q: On WR Brian Thomas Jr.’s ability as a runner and whether that translates well to running back?

Etienne: “Yes, BT is one of those who could have been anything they wanted. He is a playmaker. He’s from Louisiana, so I feel like BT could have done anything he wanted. He decided to become a receiver and you’re looking at another great receiver from LSU (Louisiana State University).”

Q: How difficult is it to maintain the intensity of the week knowing there is no playoff incentive?

Etienne: “It’s a big challenge, but at the end of the day we all honestly know that this season isn’t going the way we wanted, but we’re still not giving up on our dream of being a Super Bowl team . We know we have to win games like this in the future to get there. So I feel like the best experience is the teacher’s, and we keep getting enough of it, we’ll flip the switch and figure it out, then we’ll be the team that wins a bunch of games by one score. We’ll just keep learning this year, but I have a feeling we’ll get there. This learning experience will help us in this area.”
