The Rams remain in control of the NFC West with a 19-9 win over the Jets

With two big division games remaining to close out the season, the Rams picked up a decisive win on Sunday with a 19-9 win over the Jets.

While New York controlled the ball and clock for most of the game, the Rams had some big plays in the second half that put things in their favor.

The Jets led 9-6 early in the third quarter, had 14 plays to start the second half, but escaped with no points when an Aaron Rodgers pass was broken up on 4th-and-4 from Los Angeles’ 13 – Yard Line.

After the Rams ended their 13-play possession with Joshua Karty’s 38-yard field goal, they got the turnover the defense desperately needed. Safety Kam Curl sacked quarterback Aaron Rodgers, while linebacker Jared Verse recovered the loose ball for an extra possession at the New York 21-yard line.

Tight end Tyler Higbee — who made his debut in 2024 after suffering a torn ACL and ACL in the postseason last year — scored an 11-yard touchdown to give Los Angeles a 16-9 lead.

Karty then hit a 45-yard field goal to take a 19-9 lead after the defense recorded another fourth-down stop.

With the Jets having a chance at a two-minute practice with no timeouts remaining, returner Xavier Gipson thwarted the punt while the Rams recovered and effectively ended the game.

There were only three possessions in the first half and one possession in the third quarter.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford finished the game 14 of 19 for 110 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Kyren Williams had another great game, rushing for 122 yards on 23 carries.

On the other hand, Rodgers finished 28 of 42 for 256 yards with one touchdown. He is now just one away from 500 career passing touchdowns. Davante Adams had seven catches for 68 yards with a TD.

The Rams are now 9-6 after starting the season 1-4 and in first place in the NFC West. They play the Cardinals next Saturday night and could have a chance to win the division.

The Jets are now 4-11 and will face the Bills next Sunday.
