NBA Best Bets Today (Pdictions, Prop Bets for Pacers vs. Kings, Scottie Barnes)

The NBA is approaching its big day – Christmas – but first we have a short list of Nikola Jokic, De’Aaron Fox, Scottie Barnes, Tyrese Haliburton and a few other stars in action on Sunday, December 22nd.

Several teams – the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans – play for the second night in a row on Sunday. So how does this affect our betting tips for tonight’s game?

I have two plays in mind, including a possible surprise pick in the Indiana Pacers-Kings game.

Indiana Pacers +2 (-110) vs. Sacramento Kings – 0.5 units

I don’t know how anyone can get behind the Kings right now since they’re 6-10 at home and are just 4-8-1 ATS as home favorites.

While the Pacers have been bad on the road (5-11 in a row), they are 4-5 ATS on the road as underdogs.

This is a difficult turnaround for the Kings, who struggled for the second straight night, going 2-4 ATS.

Additionally, the Kings’ track record is extremely concerning as that margin is only two points.

I can’t trust Sacramento in a close game, and the Pacers have been playing well lately, ranking sixth in the NBA in net rating over the last five games.

I’ll take the points here.

Scottie Barnes OVER 1.5 3-pointers made (-140) – 0.5 units

He may not be known for his shooting, but All-Star Scottie Barnes might be undervalued in the 3-point prop market on Sunday.

Barnes has been on and off with injuries this season, but he has had a hot streak from beyond the arc of late – despite shooting just 31.1 percent from three this season.

In his last 11 games, Barnes has made at least two shots from distance in 10 of them, posting a 32.9 percent shooting percentage from three games during that stretch. Barnes has also attempted at least five shots from distance in all of those games.

Houston has defended the 3-ball well (second-fewest 3s allowed per game), but Barnes is a solid bet at that base if he continues to take the 3 at this rate.
